WHY TESLA IS NOT ABLE TO SELL CARS IN INDIA ?

Tesla wants that Indian government should decrease the import duty of foreign cars and do it 40% . In India , foreign cars which cost ₹ 3000000 has import duty of 60% and foreign cars which are expensive then ₹ 3000000 has import duty of 100% . for example - if you will import a foreign car of 2 crores you have to give 2 crores to the government too in form of tax .

Cost

Price of Tesla is 60 lakhs so if it will get import duty of 100% . Person who is importing the car has to give 60 lakh to the company and 60 lakh to the government in form of tax . who will buy this much expensive car in India .

Made in china

After USA Tesla has opened his factories in China because in China there is too much lithium to make batteries and Tesla wants that they will export cars China to India and as we all know the relations between India and China are very bad and Indian government will not allow made-in-China cars and if they will allow then Indians will not purchase made-in-China cars.

Tesla is lasting a big market

Till 2030 our Indian government has planned to make 30% private , 70% commercial , and 40% buses will be electric so if Tesla will not come in India quickly in India it will lost a big profit . Tesla is the world's no. 1 EV car making company if it will not come in India will India left behind in this electric future .

Only 2 years ago Tata was able to make 8 EVs in a day that same company is making 100+ EVs in a single day . Tata is dominating India's EV sector . Tata is also

making a EV car named avinya which will release in India in 2025 and it will run 500 km in a single charge . In february 2022 out of all EVs sold in India , Tata sold 96% out of that . It's reason is not only that Tata's EVs are cheap another reason is that Tata has an excellent charging infrastructure in India .
